5 ORGANISATIONS WHO ARE MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE RIGHT NOW

As you probably know, as well as having sustainability at the core of our business - one of our biggest brand values is being socially responsible. At the same time, we want to support small businesses and ethical businesses here in the UK where we are based.

Over the past few weeks, we have all felt the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic. Now is the perfect time to become active in supporting charities and other businesses wherever possible. Whether it's giving someone a shoutout on your social media pages, donating to a charity or buying something from a small business - every little really does help. We've been completely amazed at how this pandemic has brought the world a little closer, communities have come together to help neighbours, friends and colleagues - people have been delivering groceries to others who are self-isolating, calling their friends who are anxious for a chat and volunteering in a volume that has never been seen before.

So we thought it might be helpful to include some ways that you can help right now, and share businesses who are doing some awesome things! Here are 5 organisations who are making the world a better place right now...

Bankuet

Food banks are struggling to help those in need. Many of the essential items that food banks need are running desperately low or out of stock completely, combined with a reduced amount of volunteers due to people self isolating. With Bankuet you can donate food to those who need it without leaving your home. Simply choose a food bank, then choose either a curated bundle or to pick single items. We love that on top of this they are also trying to be as zero-waste as possible by only donating food that is needed.

Pai

In response to the global shortage of hand sanitiser, natural and organic skin company, Pai got their in-house chemists straight on the task of formulating a hand sanitiser. Within 2 weeks, Acton Spirit hand sanitiser gel was launched! They are currently offering an amazing buy one, gift one offer - ordering one hand sanitiser means an NHS frontline worker, care home, homeless charity or beauty bank will receive a donation of Acton Spirit too.

On Hand

OnHand is an app which connects older adults who require help to verified volunteers. This service has become particularly important as increasing numbers of elderly or vulnerable people are self isolating and unable to leave their houses. Verified volunteers are helping in many ways, such as food shopping, picking up medication or dog walking.

Just download the app to sign up to be a volunteer: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/onhand/id1367396948

Mind

This is a very tricky time for everyone, but it can be particularly difficult for those suffering with their mental health. Staying at home combined with the panic surrounding this virus can be very triggering for a number of mental health issues. By donating to Mind you can help keep their helpline (and other important services) up and running, to help those in need of advice and support.

If you are currently struggling and need someone to talk to please call the Mind helpline: 0300 123 3393
