Akatue

Akatue is a social enterprise developed to create radical change. It was conceived in 2018 after founder Liberty Clayton returned to her hometown of Bolga.

Inspired by the women in her family, Liberty wanted to use her experience as a Savile row trained tailor to create tangible, progressive careers for artisans across Africa. With her team in Ghana, Akatue focus on quality, creativity, and growth. With their products being inspired by travels across the continent and learning from the craftspeople they meet.

Akatue is inspired by the ethos of the Arts and craft movement and believe in making art accessible to all. Their products are carefully thought out and crafted to the highest standards. Focusing on juxtaposing traditional African with traditional British craftsmanship and techniques to create original perspectives on luxury.
