CONRAD BORA BORA NUI
The Conrad Bora Bora has recently initiated a programme to regenerate the coral reefs surrounding the resort. They’ve developed 17 underwater structures with the view to restoring them using a “Biorock” technique - passing a low voltage electric current through electrodes in the water. This process is currently the best method for regenerating coral reefs.
Coral feeds plankton, and plankton feed fish and also generate oxygen which feeds into the air we breathe. By regenerating the coral reefs they can regenerate an entire ecosystem - a fantastic endeavour to aid global environmental efforts.
Why we love them: They also support local initiatives for the restoration of coral.
